Looking for a Creative Studio in Rhode Island? Here's What That Actually Looks Like.
You typed "creative studio in Rhode Island" into Google. Or maybe it was "web designer Newport RI" or "someone who can make my website stop embarrassing me." Either way — hi. You found the right place.
I'm Emily, and Little Lion Creative is a small creative studio based in Newport, Rhode Island. I build websites, shape brands, and create content for creative entrepreneurs, authors, and startups who care a little too much about their work to let it look like an afterthought.
But "creative studio" is one of those phrases that can mean fifteen different things, so let me tell you exactly what it means here, starting with the part most people are actually looking for.
Web design — and yes, there's more than one kind
This is where most people find me, so let's start here. Because "I need a website" doesn't mean the same thing for everyone, I offer three different ways to do it. Picking the right one saves you money and a lot of headache.
Web Site in a Day (from $4,400)
My favorite service, and it's for the client who wanted to launch yesterday. We block off one focused day, and your site goes from nothing to live. The catch: this only works if your brand direction is already professionally packaged and you can actually be available that day. If that's you, it's the fastest path there is.
Custom Web Design (from $3,200)
The full build. Custom copywriting, design that's actually yours, social integration, newsletter connection — the number of pages is built around what you need, not a template's idea of it. Typical timeline is 6–8 weeks. This is the right call if you want something considered, strategic, and built to work for you at 2am while you're asleep.
Web Redesign (custom pricing)
Already have a site but it's making you wince? We can work with that. Sometimes a redesign means switching platforms entirely; sometimes it just means dragging your branding into this decade. Pricing and timeline depend on what you're actually starting from.
Website Review (from $200)
Not ready to commit to a full build, but you've got a nagging feeling your site isn't pulling its weight? Start here. Your website has one job and a Website Review tells you, bluntly and honestly, whether it's doing it. I go through your copy, messaging, branding consistency, navigation, image choices, and calls to action, then deliver the whole breakdown to your inbox within 72 hours. You'll fill out a short questionnaire after booking so the feedback is actually about your business not generic advice you could've Googled. Perfect for new sites that need a confidence check, and established sites that just aren't converting.
One honest requirement: every web project starts with a professional branding scheme — whether that comes from me or another reputable designer. A beautiful site built on a shaky brand is just a nicer-looking problem. Which brings me to the rest of what I do.
Photography + content (from $200)
Great photos and copy that doesn't put people to sleep. Whether you're introducing yourself to the world for the first time or reminding it you're still here, this is how your site and socials stop looking like stock-photo soup. Being Rhode Island–based means I can actually show up and shoot in person … Newport, Providence, wherever you are.
Brand strategy (custom pricing)
Before anyone sees your website, they see your brand. If you don't have one yet, that's exactly where we start. If you have one and it's just not landing — same. This is the foundation everything else gets built on, which is why it's the first thing I ask about.
"Okay, but which one do I actually need?"
Quick gut check:
You have branding you love and you're in a hurry → Web Site in a Day.
You're building something new and want it done right → Custom Web Design (and probably Brand Strategy first).
Your site exists but you avoid sending people to it → Web Redesign.
Something's off but you can't name what → Start with a Website Audit.
You don't have a brand yet → Start with Brand Strategy. Everything else gets easier.
Your brand's solid but your visuals and words are letting it down → Photography + Content.
Still not sure? That's literally what a first conversation is for.
Why work with a local creative studio?
You can hire a faceless agency three time zones away. But a Rhode Island creative studio means I can meet you for coffee in Pawtucket or Wakefield, shoot your photos in person, and actually understand the New England small-business and creative world you're operating in. You get a collaborator, not a ticket number.
Let's partner if…
You're ready to invest in doing it right instead of doing it yourself
You care about what you're doing
You want a collaborator, not just someone to execute a brief
If you read that and thought finally — we should talk.
